Job Purpose
The Management Accountant will be responsible for maintenance of effective systems for producing financial projections, budgeting and control systems. Provide control in order to assist management in the formulation and implementation of the organisation's strategy. Maintain effective working relationships with company’s external partners.

Summary of Key Responsibilities;

  • Prepare monthly and annual management accounts for decision making and ensure monthly reporting deadlines are met at all times
  • Ensure all financial records are kept accurately and securely and in line with legislative requirements.
  • Monitor company’s financial position on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Ensure timely payment of creditors and invoicing of debtors.
  • Implement and follow the debtor management process.
  • Be responsible for payroll, pension and tax contribution payments
  • Administer the bank accounts and carry out bank reconciliations on all company bank accounts.
  • Act as the first point of contact for the auditors and communicate with them to ensure all questions can be answered efficiently.
  • Analysis of business performance including benchmarking and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide monthly budget reports for Management Meetings working closely with budget-holders to enable them to make accurate decisions.
  • Overseeing petty cash reconciliation, allocating payments to appropriate budgets.
  • Monitoring bank statements on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full ACCA/CIMA / CA Zambia
  • Must have a minimum of 4-5 years proven experience in Management Accounting and reporting
  • Must have a minimum of 2-3 years  working experience with an FMCG or Food Manufacturing Company in the same or similar capacity
  • Advanced accounting and financial principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A problem-solver with attention to detail
  • Organizational and leadership skills
  • Must be a member of ZICA
