Job Purpose
The Sales Lead will be responsible for discovering and pursuing new business prospects, negotiating deals and maintain customer satisfaction. The Lead will conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs across Zambia. The Sales Lead will be responsible for guiding the company’s sales strategies while working alongside the Executive team in Zambia and USA.

Summary of Key Responsibilities;

  • Maintain and generate new business leads in FMCG, Government agencies,
    Agriculture, Construction, and manufacturing industries across Zambia.
  • Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Take the lead in the formulation and implementation of sales/marketing monitoring strategies
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Interacts with customers physically on a daily basis in order to establish market information specific to them
  • Develop customer retention strategies
  • Research all clients fully prior to visiting, to ensure credit limits are viable, and there is a realistic chance of success
  • Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.
  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management
  • Creating and developing new innovative ways to communicate the company message to their existing customers.
  • Keep the sales team motivated thereby contributing to the annual sales and marketing plan.
  • Periodically conduct competitor intelligence and share information with the Executive team to improve the services and pricing against competitor offers

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Advanced Diploma / Degree in Sales and Marketing or any Business-Related Field
  • Must have a minimum of 3+ of work experience in a Fast Paced Environment (FMCG , Logistics or Telecoms)
  • A minimum of 1-2 years Freight Forwarding (International/Domestic
    Courier) Sales and Marketing experience will be an added advantage
  • Proven track record of developing existing and new business
  • Preferably experience developing regional and International business
  • Should be flexible enough (might be required to work on weekends based on workload)
  • You must hold a Clean Driving License.
  • Must be a member of ZIM
