Job Purpose
The IT Officer Intern will work closely with the IT Manager to provide technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Respond to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problems, and determines and implements solution.
Summary of Key Responsibilities;
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
- Provide technical Support to telephone and email requests from users for all Computer Hardware, Software and Associated peripherals. (Workstations, and Printers).
- Log and document all user requests into an IT Activity report to facilitate the resolution of common queries.
- Pro-actively provide Information to users on the progress of outstanding support issues.
Loading Windows 10/11 Operating System onto new Computers
Connecting Computers to Active Directory and Intune - Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability.
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Ensuring electrical safety standards are met.
- Assist in repairing or replacing damaged hardware.
- Upgrading the entire system to enable compatible software on all computers
- Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level
- Train computer users on usage of the applications implemented
- Maintain daily performance of computer systems.
- Respond to email messages for users seeking help; Ask questions to determine nature of problem.
- Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
- Evaluate User needs and systems functionality to ensure the dept. meets optimal business needs by; proactively training end-users on IT Tools and Resources provided.

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
- Full Grade 12 Certificate
- Diploma in Computer Studies or BSc in Computing
- MCA Microsoft Azure Admin Certification will be an added advantage
- Good Technical skills and knowledge in loading Operating Systems.
- Must have a minimum of 06 months - 1 years work or Industrial attachment experience
