Job Purpose
The Civil Engineer will be responsible for Planning, Designing, and Overseeing Construction and maintenance of building structures, and facilities such as roads, bridges and channels.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing engineering design and documents and confirming specifications.
- Develop and construct a huge range of projects of the physically and naturally built environment from conception through to completion.
- Design construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings, and models.
- Prepare engineering design by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photographs, and tests on soil composition, terrain and related topographical and geologic data.
- Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies
- Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders
- Handle over the resulting structures and services for use
- Monitor progress and compile reports in project status
- Determine project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs.
- Produce engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules
- Fulfill project requirements by training and guiding operators and all site stuff
- Maintain operations by enforcing project and operational policies and procedures.
- Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions.
- Maintain project database by writing computer programs, entering data, and completing backups.

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Must have a minimum of 4-5 years Civil/Structural Engineering work experience with 2 years in Road Construction.
- Proven experience in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control and regulatory approvals
- Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be a member of EIZ
