Job Purpose
The Marketing Manager will be responsible for Brand Management, Designing, implementing and optimizing the Marketing Strategy in line with the overall business goals to reach the set objectives. Maintain and develop key relationships within the B2B business category.
Summary of Key Responsibilities;
  • Formulation and implementation of the Marketing Strategy in line with the overall business goals to reach its objectives.
  • Work closely with the Country Manager to achieve the desired organization performance and results i.e. market share, growth, profitability cash flow, return on investment.
  • Managing relations with creative agencies to enhance the brand
  • Monitor and evaluate competitor brands, products and activities for realignment of strategy where necessary.
  • Implement effective Business contracts and agreements for Corporate and Trade channels ensuring compliance through the sales team.
  • Conduct periodic competitor analysis
  • Maintain the highest levels of professionalism to ensure customer satisfaction on all customer related matters.
  • Arrange public appearances or exhibits for clients to increase product and service awareness and to promote goodwill
  • Manage special events such as sponsorship of races, parties,  introducing new products, or other activities the company supports in order to gain public attention through the media without advertising directly
  • Providing guidelines to the Marketing and Sales Team on what resources are going to be used to take advantage of which opportunities to minimize which threats to product a desired result.
  • Formulating the entire Marketing Department’s budget and adhere to it.
  • Develop and cultivate a culture of performance and accountability and discipline within the department
  • Lead in the delivery of the Company’s annual Business Plan.
  • Monitoring all marketing reports as far as performance of each dealer is concerned and replaces the poor performers or trains them to uplift their standard.
  • Sitting in the committee and participate on the discussion on the new design of our stations.
  • Promote customer, company relation by participating in public meetings and constant discussion with other oil companies on matters of mutual interest. 


Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Marketing or any Commercial
  • A Professional Certification in Marketing will be an added advantage
  • 5-7 years’ leadership experience in Marketing & Business Development in a highly competitive commercial environment in a Senior Sales management position;
  • Must have experience in Oil Marketing or FMCG
  • Evidence of having successfully developed and lead the implementation of a new route-to-market strategy for existing and completely new products & services
  • Demonstrated understanding of commercial markets (particularly for OMC) and fresh approaches to drive revenue growth
  • Must be very creative
  • Must be a member of ZIM
