Job Purpose
The Supply Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the purchase of oil feedstock and manage the supply of all products (white and heavy fuels and Lubricants) .Manage relations with the supplier, crude traders, schedulers, risk managers and refinery based personnel.
 
Summary of Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct continuous reviews/monitoring of crude oil market through traders to understand availabilities and pricing.
  • Build a constructive relationship with Tazama to maximise supply opportunities for the company and to manage proactively all supply interruption from Terminals.
  • Manage supply for local market from Terminals and through importation
  • Utilize linear programming analysis and market information to generate alternative feedstock values.
  • Manage supply of lubricant through importations in coordination with central Supply chain function.
  •  Ensure crude slates are optimized within refinery and logistical constraints.
  • Maintain continuous dialogue with refineries and others as required, to ensure that all crude and feedstock opportunities are considered.
  • Maintain continuous dialogue with crude traders, schedulers and risk management personnel to ensure that all crude and feedstock opportunities are considered.
  • Ensure and provide the right support to transit function in order to fulfil all transactions in line with custom regulation.
  • Promote team work within Distribution and with internal customer 
  • Coach, motivate and develop the supply team, in particular raising competency levels and ensuring robust talent.
  • Generate measurement data periodically to determine the success of the feedstock acquisition process and to initiate continuous improvement.

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree  in Engineering or Transport and Logistics
  • At least minimum of 7 years or more experience in Supply and Distribution activities  
  • Working experience in the same capacity in the OMC sector will be plus
  • Good knowledge of local market supply issues.
  • Ability to manage complexity and to make decision when required even with minimum information and some uncertainties
  • Strong organizational, project management and time management skills
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient at using an ERP system
  • Familiar and comply with all Local  Health, Safety and Environmental Policies
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation of goods, logistics service issues, imports and exports
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities
