Job Purpose
The Transport & Logistics Officer Will be responsible for planning shipments based on product availability and customer requests. Track orders to ensure timely deliveries. Prepare shipping documents (like invoices, purchase orders and bills of lading). Formulate and Coordinate supply chain procedures to maximize quality of delivery.
Summary of Key Responsibilities;
  • Oversee the Fleet consolidation, cost analysis, routing and scheduling
  • Evaluating, redesigning and implementing logistics processes for the company
  • Determine method of shipment, and prepare bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents.
  • Direct delivery trucks to shipping doors or designated marshalling areas, and help load and unload goods safely.
  • Direct or participate in cargo loading in order to ensure completeness of load and even distribution of weight.
  • Processing request for quotations in an accurate and timely manner
  • Coordinate daily activity to track location and movement of goods via trucks. Provide reports to internal and external customers as required.
  • Ensure consistent utilization of the tracking system and proper interpretation of reports and results.
  • Arranging transporters and movement of goods from collection to delivery. And work with the various departments to achieve your goals i.e. Partners, Clearing department, and Operations delivery department.
  • Maintaining inventory, ordering shipping materials, operating necessary equipment and managing warehouse staff
  • Review all processes and systems and design and implement new plans and procedures as needed.
  • Keep records of all goods shipped, received, and stored.
  • Negotiate and arrange transport of goods with shipping or freight companies.
  • Notify consignees, passengers, or customers of the arrival of freight or baggage, and arrange for delivery.

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
  • Advanced Diploma in CILT or Clearing and Forwarding
  • Degree in any of the above fields will be a plus
  • 1-3 years’ work experience in Fleet Management
  • Proven experience in creating shipping/delivery routes and schedules
  • Good experience in tracking shipment progress
  • Must be a member of CILT
