Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) Â and schedule future maintenance sessions and advise the drivers on good vehicle use
- Maintaining vehicle functional condition by listening to driver complaints
- Conducting Daily inspections and repairing engine failures
- Repairing mechanical systems malfunctions; replacing damaged parts and components.
- Verifying vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
- Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
- Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
- Complying with company’s HSE requirements by ensuring that tasks are done in a clean and safe environment.
- Accomplish maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Find and identify mechanical faults, for example in the brakes, gears or fuel pumps
- Check for problems in vehicles with testing equipment connected to the vehicle’s electronic control unit Â
- Advise the Workshop Manager on the repairs needed and how critical they are and the repair time estimates
- Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
- Maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
- Carry out routine servicing and pre/post trip checks on all company vehicles
- Consult with other mechanics on issues that seem complex

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics
- Ability to operate all mechanical and auto tools
- Minimum 3 - 4 years’ experience as a Mechanic & Auto Electrician
- Proven experience as Auto Mechanic
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
- Energetic, self-motivated and target orientated.
- Must have working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
