Description:
Job Purpose;
The Procurement Coordinator will be responsible for evaluating suppliers, products, and services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality. Take the lead in identifying where aggregated spending might offer better value for money and will also work closely with the other key executive members on administering supplier contracts and assisting in the implementation of supplier contracts. Maintaining positive supplier relations, evaluating supply options, approving purchases, and maintaining accurate records.


Summary of Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Procurement Lead with all stages of the procurement process and work cross-functionally with all internal and external teams.
  • Be responsible for inputting order data, communicating with vendors, tracking shipments, and identifying cost savings and improvements to the process.
  • Assist to oversee procurement processes, including review of purchase requisitions, request for quotations, supplier selection, negotiations, purchase and delivery forms
  • Provide a strategic, efficient and flexible procurement service which will deliver optimum value for money, cost savings and the best quality of service
  • Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
  • Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
  • Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
  • Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
  • Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
  • Manage weekly supplier communication channels to stay on top of all outstanding orders.
  • Prepare and draft purchase orders and upload corresponding shipment data into our tools.
  • Work with the Procurement Lead to develop and implement new procurement and sourcing strategies, aligning with industry news and best practices.
 


Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Economics or Advanced Diploma in Purchasing and Supply (Level 6) or Equivalent
  • Must have a minimum of 4-7 years’ practical experience in Procurement Sector
  • Must have Procurement experience in the Mining or Manufacturing Sector/Industry
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent Negotiating and Contract Management Skills
  • Must be a member of ZIPS/CIPS
