Job Purpose
The Business Development Executive will be required to sell company products, goods and services to old and prospective customers. Interact with customers to find what they want, create solutions and ensure a smooth sales process. The Business Development Executive will also be required to find new sales leads through client referrals, personal engagements at business and social gatherings.
Summary of Key Responsibilities;
  • Create and develop new innovative ways to communicate the company message to existing and new customers.
  • Make frequent physical sales and marketing visits
  • Effectively utilize company resources including inventory and advertising in a bid to find new customers.
  • Conduct product demonstrations to customers, provide information on the benefits and uses of a variety of accessories, answer customer questions and convince them to purchase the products being demonstrated.
  • Develop a strategic approach to account management and customer relationships
  • Construct and implement profitable long-term account plans
  • Gain a better understanding of your client’s needs and expectations
  • Enhance the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate with key decision makers
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products and delivery schedules.
  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Marketing Manager in formulation of short and long term sales and marketing strategies
  • Participant in Trade Shows, Expos and Exhibitions

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Marketing or any Commercial Field
  • Must have at least 3-4 years’ progressive experience in Sales and Marketing of IT products and services
  • Must have worked for a minimum of 2 years in field Sales and Marketing
  • Must have a clean Drivers License
  • Must be a member of ZIM
