Job Purpose
The Assistant Regional Manager will be working closely with the Regional Manager to meet sales targets and manage local operations for profitable growth in fertilizer products. Assists in inventory control including monitoring receivers, customer orders and general duties associated with inventory control. Assists in driving fertilizer sales, managing farmer programs, controlling stock, ensuring compliance, and handling logistics like invoicing and fertilizer products deliveries.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise truck routing including contacting customers, farmers, suppliers and other related concerns.
- Support the Regional Manager in the sales and marketing operations of the Fertilizers in the assigned province/region
- Assist in distributor and dealer coordination
- Execute field sales activities and achieve assigned targets
- Assist in inventory control including monitoring receivers, customer orders and general duties associated with inventory control.
- Assist the Regional Manager in monitoring and implementing supplier programs.
- Participate in sessions to analyze sales activities to identify areas where we are falling short of targets.
- Develop and test out hypotheses to improve performance. Work as assigned to implement winning solutions.
- Measure the performance of territory reps’ performance and your own criteria against the criteria provided by the manager.
- Participate in the analysis of sales activities to identify areas where we are falling short of targets.
- Conduct farmer meetings, product demonstrations, and awareness programs
- Collect market intelligence and customer feedback
- Maintain sales reports, follow-ups, and documentation
- Assist the Regional Manager in employee supervision including direct supervision of drivers and completion of semi-annual and annual job reviews.
- Assist Regional Manager with month-end closing activities including verification of invoices, inventory count and proper month-end reports.
- Coordinate farmer meetings, demo plots, and field days to promote product usage.

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree/Diploma in agriculture, Agronomy, Agribusiness, Marketing or related fields.
- Must have a minimum of 3-4 years of work experience in fertilizer or agrochemical industry (Seeds, Fertilizers, Pesticides, etc.)
- Proven understanding of agricultural input sales and farmer engagement
- Must be field-oriented with willingness to travel extensively
- Exposure to sales management, channel development including Agro dealer management and commercial farms will be a plus
- Aptitude for numbers and data-driven decision-making
- Good knowledge of agricultural inputs market for small and medium-scale farmers preferred or ability to learn technical knowledge quickly
- Coachable – a desire to learn, constantly improve, and act on feedback
