Description:

Job Purpose

The HR Officer will be responsible for providing support in the various human resources and functions, which include recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitoring and employee counselling. Provide counselling and support on policies and procedures. Perform duties such as job descriptions, job posting and promotion and hiring analytics.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement training programs
  • Assist in performance management and employee evaluation
  • Maintaining employee records and paperwork
  • Ensure adherence to labour laws and regulations
  • Orientating new employees and training existing employees.
  • Monitoring employee performance.
  • Ensuring that all employees are organized and satisfied in their work environment.
  • Overseeing the health and safety of all employees.
  • Implementing systematic staff development procedures.
  • Providing counseling on policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring meticulous implementation of payroll and benefits administration.
  • Communicating with staff about issues affecting their performance.
  • Drawing up plans for future personnel hiring procedures and goals

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in HR Management
  • Must have a minimum of 3+ years’ experience in Human Resources in the agriculture sector
  • Working experience as Human Resource Officer for a farm will be a plus
  • Additional HR training/certification in Payroll Management will be advantageous.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Experienced in protecting the interests of all employees.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Excel
  • Proven full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
  • Must be a member of ZIHRM
