Job Purpose
The Motorbike Courier/Rider will safely deliver various items such as samples, lab results and other medical supplies to specified locations in the province following the delivery instructions provided by the Lab Regional Project Team Lead. Other responsibilities include prioritizing important deliveries, notifying dispatch staff of any conditions that may delay or impact deliveries, and answering any questions that recipients may have regarding deliveries. Safe guard the packages to ensure that they are not damaged or affected by harsh weather conditions. Maintaining an accurate record of all packages delivered to recipients. Regularly communicating with dispatch staff to provide delivery updates and receive instructions for new deliveries within the assigned district.
Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 or 9 School certificate
- Must have a minimum of 3+ years working experience as a bike courier within the NGO sector
- Must have proven experience of transporting laboratory samples on a motorbike
- Proven ability to use the eLAbS application
- Able to use E-Lab’s device and other necessary tools.
- Good knowledge in proper specimen handling
- Must be able to ride a motorbike efficiently and effectively
- Must have sound knowledge of road safety regulations
- Proven ability to use GPS devices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Should be in possession of a clean Class A valid rider’s license
NOTE THAT THIS POSITION IS A RELIEF/TEMPORARY ENGAGEMENT FOR A PERIOD OF 3 MONTHS
PREFERABLY MUST BE BASED IN EITHER NORTHERN OR MUCHINGA PROVINCE
