Job Purpose
The Operations Manager will lead and oversee the daily operations of our insurance company. The Operations Manager will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business development activities and the operational execution of insurance products. This role is critical in ensuring that all processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with the company’s strategic goals. The Insurance Operations Manager will be responsible for managing teams, streamlining workflows, and ensuring customer satisfaction while adhering to industry regulations.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Managing day-to-day operations of the company and be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures that enhance efficiency and compliance
- Collaborate closely with the Business Development Manager and Head of Claims to ensure smooth transition from deal closure to operational execution.
- Driving operational excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Work closely with other departments, including underwriting, claims, and customer service, to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of services.
- Analyzing data, identify trends, and make informed decisions will be key to your success in this role.
- Oversee the claims processing function, ensuring timely and accurate handling of claims in line with company policies and client expectations.
- Implement best practices for claims assessment, validation, and negotiation, ensuring a fair and efficient process.
- Motivating and developing effective teams across all branches and ensuring they have the skills and resources needed to excel in their roles.
- Interacting with a wide range of stakeholders, including clients, team members, and senior management.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including IT, Sales, Marketing, and Finance, to align operational processes with business objectives.
- Lead the customer service team in delivering high-quality support to clients, focusing on client satisfaction and retention.
- Handle escalated issues and resolve them in a timely manner.

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors’ degree in Pensions, Insurance, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Must have at least a minimum of 6+ years of experience in operations management within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Proven experience in Customer Service and Claims Management
- Working as Operation Manager with an Insurance Company or a Broker will be a plus
- Strong knowledge of insurance products, claims processes, and regulatory compliance in Zambia
- Experience leading teams and managing cross-functional projects.
- Proven knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proven ability to implement process improvements.
- Must be a member of a relevant professional body
