Job Purpose
The Operation Manager will oversee day to day security operations of deployment and supervision of Security personnel. Perform assignment spot checks and ensure that all security personnel under command are undertaking their duties. Driving employee engagement by personal interaction and engagement with the team in order to develop and coach them in their duties and responsibilities. Oversee compliance of security personnel recruitment with established company policies and Standards.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all assignment instructions are followed and adhered to by security personnel.
- Oversee investigations of incidents and prepare incident reports within 24 hours.
- Ensure retention of existing business and scouting for new clients
- Ensure client’s requirements, requests, complaints and suggestions are addressed within 24hrs
- Oversee management of all security officers Leave schedules and off duty arrangement.
- Oversee the training of security guards and ensure standards are adhered to.
- Making sure that guards are deployed at respective contracts
- Advise clients on criminal trends and new security innovations
- Liaising with clients when drafting Standing Instructions and security surveys
- Monitoring the caliber of guards to be deployed at premises as per client’s request
- Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits.
- Coordinate with law enforcement and other agencies.
- Respond to security incidents and emergencies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Monitor and analyze security systems and technologies
- Advise management on security threats on client premises.
- Prepare and present security reports to senior management.
- Manage security budgets and resources.
- Conduct investigations into security breaches and incidents.
- Implement and maintain access control systems.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external security providers.
- Ensure the physical security of all company facilities.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends and technologies.
- Lead and mentor security staff.
- Develop and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Ensure the protection of sensitive and confidential information.
- Collaborate with other departments to address security concerns.
- Evaluate and improve existing security measures
- Market the company as well as retain clients

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced Diploma in Security Management or any other Security related course
- A degree in Security Management or Criminal Justice will be a plus
- Must have a minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in high level Security Operations with a minimum of five years working under Private Security Firm as an Operations Manager or Security Manager
- Must have previous experience as a Police Officer, Military Police Officer or Head of Security
- Must have proven experience in security technologies and systems.
- Must have experience conducting risk assessments and security audits.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
- Experience managing security budgets and resources.
- Proven ability to coordinate with law enforcement and other agencies.
- Experience with access control systems.
- Ability to develop and implement security policies.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team.
- Experience with business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
