Job Purpose

The Advertising Manager will oversee all advertising, marketing and branding efforts of the company. Take charge of hiring the advertising agency, and for developing the advertising strategy for the company or organization. Manage the advertising budget of the firm and is responsible for making the advertising budget decisions.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, oversee, and manage all advertising strategies for organization, ensuring all content is consistent with brand standards and goals
  • Providing expert advice on marketing and advertising methods for new or existing products or services
  • Be responsible for the advertisement creative, which includes logos, slogans, and graphics.
  • Work closely with the advertising agency to develop the overall advertising strategy.
  • Create new advertising campaigns and oversee current campaigns
  • Working closely with the Marketing team in the development of the advertisement, including the writing and the photography.
  • Enhance organization’s reputation by integrating advertising into public relations
  • Generate buzz around organization by attending industry events, speaking at conventions, and writing articles
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other organizations
  • Oversee the team in the use of social media tools, such as Facebook, Twitter, and blogs, to promote organization’s brand
  • Manage advertising campaigns, including website, social media, and search campaigns
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate paid advertising campaigns
  • Monitor campaigns performance, including measuring click through rates, conversion rates, and cost per lead
  • Analyze analytics data to optimize campaign performance
  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant Google, Facebook, and other digital ad platforms
  • Create and optimize landing pages, and optimize email marketing campaigns
  • Participating in the hiring and evaluation of employees within the advertising department

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5+ years experience in Advertising, Branding or Marketing
  • Must have worked for an advertising agency at middle management level
  • Must have proven experience in Events management
  • Understanding of design and marketing principles and techniques.
  • Working experience in Marketing or Branding for a telecoms company will be an added advantage
  • Ability to develop strategies based on industry trends and developments.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, especially when working with multiple projects or teams
  • Must be a member of ZIM
