Job Purpose
The Vehicle Sales Consultant will be responsible for discovering and pursuing new sales prospects, negotiating deals and maintaining customer satisfaction in north-western province. Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs. Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services. Be the principal contact point between the Sales Department and the Customer in Solwezi. Ensure that all Customers Sales experiences exceed their expectations.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Take the lead in the formulation and implementation of sales and marketing strategies
- Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
- Interacts with customers physically on a daily basis in order to establish market information specific to them
- Develop customer retention strategies
- Research all clients fully prior to visiting, to ensure credit limits are viable, and there is a realistic chance of success
- Meeting the set sales objectives at, or above, the set gross profit target.
- Exceeding the set target for Customer Satisfaction Surveys both those conducted by the Manufacturers or internally.
- Identifying new or potential business opportunities to grow the Brands market shares within Zambia.
- Managing and constant engagement with designated key clients’ accounts.
- Meeting all reporting requirements within the deadlines.
- Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
- Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Ensure that the Show room is maintained to the Brands Standards and that all vehicles displayed are in immaculate condition to be demonstrated to Customers, battery charged, clean and polished
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management
- Creating and developing new innovative ways to communicate the company message to their existing customers
- Keep the sales team motivated thereby contributing to the annual sales and marketing plan.
- Plan and project managing marketing events and evaluating their success.
- Periodically conduct competitor intelligence and share information with the Executive team to improve the services and pricing against competitor offers
- Design new customer conquests by organized and systematized visits to potential new customers, monitor and report accordingly.
- Manage web inquiries as per company guidelines and requirements.
- Maintain an accurate and up to date Customer database – ensuring the recording of all relevant contact points with customers in the database.
- Open and maintain sales files as per company procedures – ensure that all the sales files required documentation / contents are accurate and filed correctly and in order.

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade Twelve Certificate
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Sales or any Business related discipline
- Must have at a minimum of 4+ years work experience in the sales industry, preferably with high involvement in goods automotive, equipment, machinery or alike)
- Must be well networked with the mining, sub-contractors, construction and engineering companies based in north-western province and the neighboring provinces
- Good communication and Interpersonal skills, passion for sales and cars, outgoing, honest, faithful, honest, ambitious
- Must have the business knowledge and culture of Solwezi or surroundings (knowing the local ways and international business principles)
- Preferably experience developing regional business
- Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and multitasking
- Computer literacy with good command of written and spoken English
- Must hold a clean driving license.
