Job Purpose
The Lubricants Sales Engineer will manage and our lubricants sales through indirect channels, namely distributors and through the company’s network of service stations), ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and market penetration. Support and collaborate with distributors and service stations to drive business growth and achieve margin targets in both B2B2C and B2C markets. Manage the implementation and communication of a comprehensive marketing strategy and offering for each key segment with the industry.
Summary of Key Responsibilities;
- Develop and manage an effective working interface with the customer service section and other supports sections to ensure both shared and specific lubricants customers are educated and provided with technical information and support.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing distributor networks and service stations
- Provide solutions to problems pertaining to the use of Lubricants and other products.
- Budgetary achievement and control of specialties section
- Calculate the profitability of the existing and new Consumer business.
- Conduct monthly reviews of lubricants prices in the retail and distributor market.
- Visit distributors and service stations regularly to assess lubricant suitability and recommend correct products based on OEM specifications.
- Ensure 100% compliance on contract validity and signed statements, maintaining an updated contract register with expiry dates.
- Log customer visit reports in Salsa (CRM system) and identify, log, and close sales opportunities.
- Support the full implementation and utilization of digital tools by customers
- Promote the company products in order to increase the overall market share and profitability of the business by adhering to a selective and qualitative approach in Consumer customer recruitment.
- Manage and maintain key account tracking files to monitor progress and development.
- Arrange and conduct lubrication training sessions for attendants and distributor salesforce.
- Participate in training sessions or professional development activities relevant to the portfolio.
- Identify and propose innovative solutions or projects for portfolio development.
Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
- A Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent technical qualification.
- Must have at least a minimum of 3+ years working experience in a business environment dealing in Lubricants or Petroleum products
- Proven familiarity with lubricant technology, oil analysis, and engine lubrication systems (preferred but not mandatory).
- Previous experience in technical sales, lubricants engineering, or industrial equipment maintenance is desirable.
- Experience working with OEM specifications and lubricant recommendations for industrial applications is an advantage.
- Innovative and have the ability to work with minimum Supervision
- Must be a member of EIZ
