Job Purpose
The Lubricants Technical Engineer will drive the growth and profitability of the Company’s lubricants business in the Mining segment by directly managing and expanding the customer base, providing technical support, and ensuring optimal product performance for mining and mining-related customers. Provide technical support and develop the Lubes business to the Mines. Monitor performance of the lubricants through oil analysis and recommend necessary action to correct shortcomings.
Summary of Key Responsibilities;
- Visit customers (Mines) regularly and assess the suitability of lubricants being used.
- Provide technical support in all ramifications on lubricant and other specialty products
- Ensure customers have adequate stocks of Lubricants
- Coordination of lubricants tenders responses as and when published by the customer
- Liaise with Engineering to ensure that Lubricant facilities at customer sites are being maintained in good working condition
- Arrange and conduct suitable lubrication training for customers so that they are able to use Lubes in a recommended manner.
- Undertake any other assignments from the Lubricants and Specialities Manager as delegated.
- Provide weekly plans and feedback on your visits to customers

- Ensure waste oils at Customer sites are being disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
- A Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent technical qualification.
- Must have a minimum 04+ years’ experience in the mining or lubricants industry, particularly working with maintenance of mining equipment.
- Must have a minimum of 02 years in Lubes Sales and Marketing experience with the Mines will be a plus
- Must be familiar with lubricant technology, oil analysis, and engine lubrication systems
- Must have both Technical and Sales/Commercial Skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (spreadsheet management, data analysis, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) for customer interaction and reporting.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to support technical assessments and customer requirements
- A valid driver’s license
- Must be a member of relevant professional body
