Job Purpose
The Sales Representative will primary driver of sales growth, managing distribution channels, and ensuring maximum product visibility within the assigned territory. Fulfill and achieve distribution and sales objectives for key brands in the on-trade channel by successful implementation of sales strategies and plans in Zambia and DR Congo. Ensure full compliance of sales, price management, promotion and merchandising. Performing various sales and marketing duties that will include executing the full sales cycle, developing and sustaining a broad customer base of retail and wholesale clients thereby expanding the Company's market share into DR Congo. Take charge of developing and maintaining relations with Corporate Key Accounts both in Zambia and DR Congo.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively identify and onboard new distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and institutional clients (e.g., NGOs, Government & Quasi- Government institutions) in Zambia and the DRC.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets across the entire FMCG product portfolio. Execute promotional activities and trade marketing initiatives in the assigned territories to boost product off-take.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong commercial relationships with key buyers, purchasing managers, and store owners.
  • Conduct regular sales visits to existing and prospective clients to present new products, secure orders, and ensure optimal stock levels. Monitor product quality, expiry dates, and ensure proper merchandising/display of products at the customer level.
  • Gather and report on market information, including competitor pricing, new product launches, and general consumer trends in the FMCG sector.
  • Use sales data and market feedback to provide accurate sales forecasts and assist in inventory planning.
  • Recommend appropriate level of credit and duration to trade accounts as per standard policies and procedures.
  • Ensure collection through pro-active evaluation and management of receivables in order to achieve collection target as set by sales management
  • Occasionally arrange schedules on shipping and make delivery of merchandise as well as services
  • Identify opportunities for portfolio expansion based on regional demand (e.g., high-demand agricultural products like fertilizers or specific hygiene products).
  • Process client orders accurately and efficiently, coordinating closely with the logistics and warehousing teams to ensure timely delivery.

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of successful B2B sales experience within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, ideally in Zambia, the DRC, or the broader SADC region.
  • Proven understanding of distribution networks, retail structures (formal and informal), and market dynamics for consumer goods in the region.
  • Proficiency in French is highly desirable and a significant advantage for working effectively in the DRC market.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territories (Zambia and DRC) is essential.
  • Valid driver’s license.
