Job Purpose

The Marketing and Communications Officer will be responsible of enhancing the Company’s brand, driving customer engagement, and supporting growth through market research, promotional campaigns, excellent customer experience, and digital marketing efforts direct oversight of social media platforms and the company website.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead in establishing a marketing and communication plan
  • Create a strong, collaborative partnership with Sales Teams, Business Development and other functions in branches and Head Office to deliver on targets.
  • Identify target markets and segments, and devise marketing campaigns to reach and engage with them effectively.
  • Maintaining business relationships with our merchant partners
  • Regularly developing communication materials
  • Monitoring and managing the marketing needs of our branches
  • Performing market research and client satisfaction surveys, and analyzing  the data
  • Contribute to the definition of new products
  • Staff training on Marketing,  Sales and Customer satisfaction
  • Organizing promotional  and CSR events, and communicating about them
  • Maintain and enhance companys brand image through consistent messaging, visual identity, and brand positioning. Protect the company’s brand identity, ensuring consistency across all communication channels and materials.
  • Ensure brand guidelines are adhered to across all marketing and communication materials.
  • Develop and implement communication plans to effectively engage with the public, media, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Handle media relations, including press releases, media inquiries, and interviews, to maintain a positive public image.
  • Identify opportunities for positive publicity and media coverage, such as awards, events, and partnerships
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital media, print, events, and community outreach programs.
  • Monitor campaign performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed to optimize results and Return On Investment
  • Maintaining and updating the company’s website and social media pages
  • Answering queries of our clients on social media
  • Manage the website, including content updates, design enhancements, functionality improvements, and SEO optimization.

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Full Grade Twelve Certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
  • A professional qualification in Digital Marketing will be a plus
  • Must have a minimum of 4-5 years experience in marketing and communications in the banking and financial services sector
  • Must have Proven experience in digital marketing, communications, public relations, and customer service, preferably in the banking or financial services sector
  • Graphic design skills and ability to use graphic design software are a big plus
  • Must have proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media platforms, website management, and analytics.
  • Proven understanding of customer service principles and best practices.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
  • Must have a valid driving license
  • Must be a member of ZIM
