Job Purpose
The Insurance Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying sales opportunities for insurance plans and overseeing a portfolio of clients. Be responsible for identifying risk management strategies, handling policy renewals, and tracking claims. Generate new business by contacting potential customers and building lasting relationship. To be successful in this job role, you should be a customer-oriented individual with a strong negotiating ability.
Summary of key duties:
- Create and implement marketing strategies to compete with other individuals or insurance companies.
- Research and source potential clients and build long-term relationships with them
- Persuade prospective clients to engage in a phone conversation and/or meeting to discuss insurance products
- Advise clients on the insurance policies that best suit their needs
- Customize insurance programs to suit individual clients
- Deliver approved policies to new clients and explain benefits and risks of the policy
- Establish a collaborative relationship with prospective clients from various sources such as networking, cold calling, and referrals.
- Distribute policy proceeds after a claim is submitted and approved.
- Recommend risk management strategies that fit clients' personal risk profiles.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on the progress of initiatives to management.
- Complete administrative tasks including maintaining records and handling policy renewals.
- Track insurance claims to ensure client and company satisfaction.
- Fill-out and submit applications, issue quotes, maintain client records and prepare reports
- Keep abreast of industry and market trends and best practices

Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Diploma in any Business or Commercial field
- Must have a minimum of 2-3 proven experience in Insurance Sales
- Proven understanding of various insurance products and services
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Sound knowledge of the Zambian insurance industry will be a plus
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Demonstrate ability to deal with different personalities.
- Good sales and negotiation skills.
- Outstanding presentation skills.
- A highly organized and hardworking individual.
- Good customer service skills.
